
Huntington News Net has published a nice little story about the Keith Albee Theater Organ, inside the Keith Albee Theatre. I also contributed a couple of the images to the article, featuring my most prolific model, Selina K, standing inside one of the organ’s large pipe chambers.
Pipe organs are the only musical instrument I can think of, which can be so large that you can actually walk around inside their inner workings. They often occupy several different rooms, or chambers, of the building they are installed in. The general public normally only sees the organ console where the organist sits to operate the organ. However, hidden behind the walls are often several different rooms filled with a wide variety of pipes, duct work, air chests, and all sorts of esoteric equipment that comprise the actual heart and soul of the instrument.
